I recently bought a Epi-Tbird that has a body made from mahagoney. The website for epiphone says the body is made from alder. This one is diffenitly mahagoney. Anyone have one similar or is this one a oddball. This bass is new, not an older model. It dosen't matter to me since a got it for the retro look and it sounds very good for the surf music and blues we play, I was just surprised to find one made out of this wood. It has taken abit of getting used to play with the odd shape and all, but sort of a fun change.
