Epifani UL901 not popular?

    I remember back in the day Epifani was a big name in boutique bass gear, even here in Europe. Nowadays it seems like the brand is not so popular anymore.

    Their products are hardly sold in Europe and the Piccolo amps got bad reviews because of white noise.

    I still have a weak spot for Epifani stuff. I am in the market for a new amp and the UL901 is tempting..

    I have been trying to find some useful information about the amp and soundclips but there is near to nothing.

    Before I order the amp unseen, I want to know some things, how's the reliability, noise floor (white noise) compaired to the popular amps today.

    Please enlighten me.

    That company screwed me over a number of years back. I won’t buy anything from them ever again.

    Wow...that must have been a really bad experience, not a good thing for a company that had a good reputation once.

    Don't create no problem, won't be no problem.
    I think they are alright. I still have an EPI 310 UL cab that is my rehearsal studio cab paired with a Genzler MG800 head. Works great.

    But a few years back it blew a speaker, and I replaced all three with the newer dual voice coil 10" Eminence speakers that Nick was using in the DIST cabs. It is still a killer cab. But the replacement speaker cost was not that great. I'm just glad I could get them.

    I’ve had fantastic support from Nick, for fifteen years. I love his products and they have never failed to perform. There are a large number of new boutique bass companies in the last ten years. So competition is a large part of Epifani’s diminished prominence. However, I play for sound and quality and like I said I am pleased. I have a Piccolo 333 with a dist 110, and a ul501 with a dist 210. I’m always getting compliments on my sound. I’m a believer in Epifani

    Picking this thread up after purchasing the UL 901. So far, I am very happy with this amp....simple, great tone, and powerful. Curious if others Have tried this head...?
