I went through some digging online because I currently own a Epiphone Embassy Pro Bass. I was curious about the pickups I could throw in it, which I guessed would be any kind of t-bird pickup. I wanted to confirm my thoughts but I couldn’t find anything online, does anybody have an answer?

Help me make a monster! (Epiphone content)

I recently asked the same thing and most responses told me to keep them or, if I were to replace them, sell them to fellow TB'ers. In short, I was convinced to keep them and I've grown to like them alot. Don't think this is the answer you wanted but I thought I'd offer.

    Good luck with the search

Thanks for the opinion, I really have no reason to replace them other than I was just curious if I could find an alternative. Judging by what many have told you, I’ll most likely keep them! Thanks for the help

I agree, the pickups are by far the best part of the Embassy Pro and the main reason for buying one IMO.

Ditto above. Throw out the bass, keep the pickups.

Lol, the bass itself is fantastic too. I think its a true sleeper for those wanting to add a budget ric or T-bird sound to their arsenal. Plus, it feels somewhere between a shortscale and a full scale. It's my main gigging axe now for my dirty blues project.

Yeah I'd have to say my main reason for purchasing the embassey was for the Rickenbacker vibe from it. It was either the embassey or the cheap Rickenbacker clones online, but I trust my local music store more than any online store. Do you know how close you could get it to sound like a Rick?

I think the closest is going full tone, blended fully to the neck pickup and playing close to the neck with a good set of roundwounds. This definitely gives you that loose-gravel tone! Very classic but different sounding than my American P which is why I bought it.

    I’ll try that out soon!

  10. The stock pickups are excellent. If you must upgrade something, go for the tuners. Bought an Embassy PRO from Sweetwater 2 weeks ago and have gigged it twice already. Only thing I changed was the strings.
