Epiphone Thunderbird 5

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by harley_ou812, Aug 18, 2002.

  1. I am looking at an epiphone thuderbird 5. I am wondering the quality of these. I seen it has a precision pickup . Will this bass Nail the Pbass tone? or is it a totally unique sound?

If I were you I would try to find a reverse T-bird.

I've played one of those. Neck was comfy, the bass was somewhat neck-heavy, and the B-string was quite poor. It doesen't have P-sound but bit muddy punch that's great for rock but that's it. The string-spacing was tight. I would had bought it(still would, I love the look!) for rock-use and strung it with high C, but before I got any cash someone beat me to it :(
