Has anybody here replaced their Epiphone Thunderbird neck?
If so, what did you replace i with and how much work did you have to do to make it fit?
    Any input is welcome!

I was thinking about getting a warmoth neck, but don't know if Epiphone uses their own neck pocket size etc.

A warmoth neck is not a drop in replacement for the eiphone. The warmoth is based on the fender neck heel width and is wider.

Exactly, the Epiphone neck is a square heel. I have done two Fenderbirds (regular and non-reverse) and both needed routing.

I measured an epi 'bird neck i have and a warmoth p-bass neck. The epi is 55mm wide at the headstock side mounting screw holes and widens to 57/58mm at the heel.
    the warmoth 60mm to 63mm.

    Thank you for your help!
Seems like its a lot of work to get it right then. I guess there is also the issue with the lenght(or "depth") of the pocket - to meake it a perfect 34"?
Maybe its just easier and better to buy a whole new bass! :smug:

The thickness near the heel is pretty close to the same on my warmoth and 'bird, maybe a mm or two. The width is a diff. story. Here's a pic with a tele bass neck pocket template on the 'bird 403330004.gif
