So, it's time for something new...and affordable.
I've been looking into a MIM Jazz or an Epi T-Bird.
I play hard and classic rock with my band, but do some mellow solo stuff on my own. When I was reading up on the epiphone, most said it had a nice array of sound from booming lows to punchy highs, any comments? I've heard plenty about the Fenders but I mean...mexican fenders, just have bad stigma around them. appreciate the help

Is it an option to get a used bass?

Two very different styled basses. If you have settled on one of these two models I would recommend trying both to see which one you prefer. Once you've done that, try to find one that sounds good. As far as the stigma with the Fenders I think that there are quality control issues with the MIM's but I would also imagine that this is the case with Epiphones as well or any other lower end bass. That said, I have an American Jazz and an MIM jazz and like them for what they are.....good sounding, great playing guitars.

Fine a bass you like and play the s$%t out of it!
