EQ for Fretless?

EQ is an effect, no? :help:

I have access to a couple of different parametric and/or graphic equalizers and I've been trying to guess
at the appropriate frequencies to boost/cut that will emphasize the fretless character, mwwaahh, etc without making the high end annoyingly prominent overall...

Any good fretless EQ hints out there?

I have a frequency chart or two, but I haven't hit the right combination yet.

I have a semi-homemade semi-hollow bass with Q-Tuners, if that matters in this case.

    TIA

Between 800hz and 2khz is the sweet spot for clarity and mwah usually. Its effectiveness is mix/arrangement dependent though. You might also consider rolling off some of the uber lows and boosting the overall volume as an alternative.
