I want tone like that above, but I have an old peavey combo 300 with a single 15, how do I eq it to get this kind of tone from my basses?

    My amp's eq controls:

    Low EQ:
    Bottom
    Punch
    Body
    Timbre

    High EQ:
    Clarity
    Bright
    Presence
    Edge

Hi, I own a Peavey Combo 300 and the best EQ I ever found for this amp was this:
    In order:

    Bottom: +9 db
    Punch: +3 db
    Body: -6db
    Timbre: +3db
    Clarity: +3db
    Bright: +5db
    Presence: 0db
    edge: 0db

IMPORTANT: The "Bright" and the "Punch" on the Pre and Post gain have to be pulled. If it doesn't, it won't be great for you and your ears

If you still don't love your sound with this, you better change your bass.

I play on this with my musicman StingRay 5 and it sounds very nice

  3. Very nice! I also own one of these great amps, and am still messing around with the eq as well. however, combined with my peavey millenium bxp ANY setting seems to sound great! I just have to dail out a bit of bottom now and then, depending on how much volume I'm using.
I am thinking of adding a mid range driver and tweeter to it as well.
now THAT would be the proverbial icing on the cake!
