Hello, i was wondering what freq to boost and drop (for youtube covers) to remove the bass out of the song, so that I may add my own.

Right now I'm just dropping everything from 200 and lower but maybe theres another way?

I think you are in the ballpark. Until someone comes up with a more sophisticated suggestion, -6dB per octave below 200 Hz is a good place to start.

I use a multi-band parametric eq and sweep frequencies until I find which frequencies affect the bass the most, and then boost or cut till I get the desired result.
