    Howdy folks,

Can any of you EB Bongo players recommend a Hard Case to keep my new 4 string bongo bass in top condition?

My local music stores in the UK are a bit useless :meh:

I can order an Ernie Ball case but this won't be here before I have to take my bass gigging. :( Do you know if the Bongo will fit in any Gator cases or Hiscox cases? I can get these online quite easily, but can't find anyone who can tell me if the bongo will fit!

    Thanks in advance...

I found none off the sales floor for my fiver, so I called Bass Central and Gard (no longer working there) set me up with one. For the life of me I can't remember the manufacturer, but they made cases for Fender. I am sure someone will chime in very soon with the right answer.

  3. I thought the price included the hard case. Did with my Sterling.

  4. I know what you mean man, hardcases are like golddust over here, got one that i got with my EDA in the US (its a cheapy generic one) and i got the proper case for my EDA, which i had to import from the US, im currently looking for a couple hardcases too, but, its not looking good :(

  5. In the US maybe, not over here :scowl:

    Probably have to export one.

Doesn't fit in a regular generic case like a TKL or G&G?

  7. The Bongo is too long to fit in any of the cases I own, except the one that came with it. It's about 2" oversize for a standard (all my basses are 34") case including some odds like the Gator lightweight and Levy's leather gigbag.

What? Local hardware store doesn't carry toilet seat cases? :p

Cases weren't included with Bongos for about the first 18 months of availability. Since then, Bongos now come stock with a case (and a slightly higher price to reflect the case, too).

If a store still has stock from before cases are available, then it won't come with a case. But, you should make sure you pay the correct price.

  11. I got the stock MM case for one of my Bongos from Musicians Friend. My other Bongo came with a C&G case made specifically for it(nothing else will fit in it).

I haven't had much of a problem finding cases for the Bongo 4s but those 5s are WAY too long for a regular case.

    Or a regular gig bag.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your responses. My EB Bongo was imported from the USA but didn't come with a case so I presume it's old stock. I got it for £600 :bassist: (including £118 import duty  heh)which I think is a good price compared to what you would pay over here in the UK (about £850 - £1000)

I'm currently using a soft gig bag, but don't have any faith in it's ability to keep my guitar safe. Also my guitar goes so far out of tune when I'm moving it about in the soft bag... not an enormous problem, but annoying when I'm still tuning up 10 minutes after my band have already started practising...

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and order the EB case. Guess it'll be worth the wait, and price tag, to get the properly fitting case.

Unless anyone knows if the Bongo will fit in any of the generic Warwick hard cases? You can pick these up online for about £40.

    Thanks again folks...

Moonrock, you anywhere near Birmingham/Wolverhampton? I have SKB, Hiscox and TGI cases here - you can come and try your Bongo in any of those and see if it fits if you like. I think the rectangular TGI case may be a winner actually, it's a couple of inches longer than the Hiscox and SKB shaped cases. Send me a PM with your number if you're close enough to make a visit. :)

You can buy Music Man cases for the Bongo straight from Music Man for $175.00 + shipping (US dollars).

In 11 years I'd think OP probably found what he was looking for.
