Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 5 H - Limited Edition
    30th Anniversary Edition
Highly figured flame maple neck / Rosewood Fingerboard (hard-to-find)
    Translucent Buttercream Finish

When these 30th Anniversary basses were readily available, I had a few come through and this is, by far, the lightest and one of the prettiest 30th Anniversary Stingrays I've ever come across.

This Stingray is 8lb 8oz. That is unheard of for a Stingray. It feels great on a strap. The neck & headstock are a very highly figured flame maple. Stunning! The fingerboard is a hard-to-find rosewood, which adds some warmth to the tone of this SR5. It also makes the white binding around the neck really pop. Tone-wise, the preamp is very versatile-- bright slap tones or rumble/growl are both easy top attain.

Excellent condition. Looks almost brand new! This bass was purchased from the original owner and it has been kept in its case and gently cared for. I found a VERY tiny mark in the finish of the lower curve of the body. Other than that, this bass is perfect... a real find.

Newly strung and setup with comfortably low action. This one is a player, for sure.

Original Hardshell Case with all case candy included.

    Thanks for looking.

I just put the ruler on it and it appears to be 17.5mm. Let's just say I rounded up. :smug:

Stingrays have always been, and always WILL be 17.5MM in a 5-string.

If they were 19mm I’d fill a wall with em’.

Nice looking Ray! What kind of pickup does this one sport? Alnico/Ceramic/Neo? Thx.

This one has ceramic pickups. According to the EBMM site, the preamp was re-voiced and they found that between alnico, ceramic and neodymium, the ceramic pickups complimented the preamp the best. They weren't wrong. The tone is balanced and expressive. The preamp is very versatile. Very punchy, but you can also dial in a nice warmth.
  11. Very nice and unbelievably light Stingray! BTW how is the balance on strap, not neck heavy?

It’s nice. If I hold it at the neck joint it balances well. On a strap it hangs straight. Zero ‘neck dive’ and easy on the shoulder.
