I love ernie ball regular bass strings. but i've noticed i get dead strings in my pack every now and then. i've been using them for about 5 years and i probably get at least one dead string a year.

    anyone else get this?
  2. Happens.

My suggestion: Play DR High-Beams. They never go dull. And are insanely ocnsistant.

It's happened to me with lots of string brands. Evn DR's..
When you buy strings try and get them from a store that sells a lot of them regularly, that will help ensure the stock is being re-done more than average, and I always have them give me a set from the very back. All the guys/gals I have known from Guitar Center say when it's time to restock strings the new one go to the back so the older one's are sold first.
