    do they make good basses?

  2. Well i own a 5 string ESP. I think that for the price of the instrument, you're getting a great bass. I paid $450 for mine new and it sounds great considering what i paid. It has EMG-Hz pickups, Active Electronics.

Its wierd how the only ESP basses I see in America are relatively cheap (around $500 or so). In Japan lots and lots of artists have their own custom ESP basses and guitars that cost thousands of dollars. I don't know if they are just for show or if they actually use them in the studio but whenever a band is on TV in Japan you can be pretty sure that at least one of the guys is playing an ESP.

I dont care for them much, I dont like the tone, the way the neck feels and the body style of them. But thats just me. They are decent basses though for $400-$500 price range. But for that you can still do alot better IMHO

My friend Doug's selling an older all white ESP bass.

It has passive pups. One p and one j.

Short scale... If I remember correctly... Atleast shorter than mine.

I think he's still selling it, anyway...
  7. the esp basses look cool and everything but i tried one out and the neck was as thick as a tree trunk.(a very big tree mind you) lol
