Essex Basses

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by WillySanchez, Feb 9, 2002.

  1. I've been thinkin of buying a jazz bass neck and body, regardless of the company, and like slappin some new pickups in it, and electronics, and a bad ass II bridge. then i saw essex basses, i was thinking of just getting one of their jazz bass copies then soupin it up, with the new electronics and hardware....does that sound like a good idea to you guys?
  2. Just be careful, I have played a Lake Placid Blue Essex Jazz, and they look good, but on close inspection I found that they're not an exact copy, the dimensions are slightly different. You would need to check to see if the pickups are standard size Jazz before you buy, otherwise the replacements may not fit.
