It seems everyone is loving their Essex basses, so this probably should be a no-brainer. But the new Samicks are designed by Greg Bennett who apparently has shaken things up, and they come with Duncan design pick ups.

I own a P-bass and would like a Jazz for variety. Here in Australia I can't get the Essex Jazz, only a P/J config in a P-bass body. But I can get a Greg Bennett Jazz. Has anyone tried either instrument? What do you think?

  2. get in touch with Kurt at rondo, I hear he is pretty accomedating. he may be able to drop ship you one direct from the factory. What do you have to lose, right?

Don't be fooled by Duncan Designed pickups.. they aren't what you think they are..

You would pay more for a samick and get about the same quality as an essex. I would try calling rondo music and see what they can do for you
