Im ordering one of these basses. Based on everything i have read here i cant go wrong.:D
How much or how close do these sound to a Fender P Bass? I plan on putting flatwound strings on it. Thanks for any input here.

Mine does. I put a Fender Original '62 pickup in it, and it sounds great. It actually sounded pretty good even with the stock pickup, but it sounds better with the Fender. I have TI Flats on it. Well worth the small amount of money I spent on it.

I have two SX jazz copies and the main points to know about these basses are these:

The weakest spot is the pots - the stock pots are very low quality jobs but whutta you want for 109 bucks? Order the wiring kits from basspartsresource.com for 21 bucks and slap those in and that issue is gone. The tuners likewise will have some slop in them but they hold the thing in tune just fine.

Dont expect super fit and finish - the basses are very good for the price but dont compare them to instruments costing hundreds more - it's not a fair comparision.

For the price they are excellent basses.

Mine sounds like a P bass. I'm sure that a Fender pickup would sound even better, but I have no gripes with the stock pickup.
