EST Basses? (weird headstock)

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Groovybanana, Jun 23, 2016.

  1. Anyone ever heard of EST basses? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

There's one in my local craigslist and it's pretty cool looking

    The headstock is very... different.

Weird string break angle off the nut, it looks cool, but maybe sacrificing a little utility for looks?

I actually, really, really like everything about this bass, even the headstock.

I'd also be worried about the break-angle, but if it stays in tune and intonates, who cares? (Imo)

Kinda has a modern scroll feel to it.

Very unusual looking bass. Plus, if you're ever in a canoe and lose your paddle you can use it. Can't complain about the break angle being too shallow. Tell us how it plays when you get it...

The "swoop" in the body looks vaguely influenced by the Mouradian bass (Chris Squire).

The tuning keys are the design used in upright basses.

i really like it! it's unique. can you play it before purchasing? and: do you know the cost?

  8. A pawn shop is selling it, per the link in the first post, they are asking $299 for it. I don't plan on purchasing it, I was just curious if anyone knew anything about the brand.

The only other mention of the brand I've been able to find online is here Korean Guitar page (Guitarsite) both people seem to like theirs.
