Anyone know the success rate of the European and particularly Japanese sellers are who regularly post American-made items at high prices (comparatively) on Reverb and eBay?

    Genuinely curious... thanks.

I know a Japanese seller pretty well. Those insane prices are not really meant for the U.S. market, they list for just about all other places at those prices.

  3. Yeah, there are a lot of places where Fenders, Gibsons etc. have way higher prices compared to the US, so not surprising that some resellers overseas advertise for more than you'd be used to in the US. Reverb and ebay link items listed on their sites in other countries on yours as well.

Shipping costs, import duties, sales taxes and exchange rates against the US dollar can all add up to much higher prices in other countries. If any particular US made instrument costs 50% more when buying it new in another country, people would likely be looking to get a higher used price if they sell.
