I think Kansas bass players get hated on around here. Probably cause we kick so much ass.

  3. I´m game! I´m not from Kansas, but I live in Kansas.
I don´t know how many Kansans you´ll find here on Talkbass though. It would definitely be cool if we could put something together

There's a few Kansans on the board. Mark Robetrs and I talked about starting a 9 strings and up Kansas club but yeah....didn't work out. I think the tough part is that most bass players in Kansas don't take playing as seriously as other bassists in other parts of the country. I personally only know of 3 or 4 other players that I consider to be quality, well practiced/seasoned players. The rest are just kinda thumping along,

It would be cool if we got a couple of guys with nice gear together to compair and play around for a while. Having a big bass bash would be cool but there are not enough players in Kansas.

Wow, really? Generalize much? So when I hop across the border to Missouri, the bassists there must be much more dedicated. :eyebrow:

Which isn't to say I'm great by any means -- far from it. But I do take my playing seriously and am constantly working to improve. However, I do know of a number of good bassists in Kansas and I haven't even been looking for them.

To be fair, it looks like you guys are further west than I am, so maybe it's a little less common out there. Just more gigs for you, right?
