EVX-155 vs. Kappalite3015 in a TL606 . . . ?

The Kappa is about 1/3 the weight and 1/2 the cost of the ElectroVoice, but my concern is mostly with the performance differences each speaker will offer. The amp is an SVT.

The new TL606s selling for about 2G thru EV are loaded with two EVX-155s. This is why I'm considering one in a single TL606.

Any information is much appreciated! Thx!

If you intend to use this cab for lows only, I'd have thought a 3015LF will provide better performance due to having 50% more Xmax.

With a Qts of .20 the EVX will choke off response below 100 Hz mounted in a cab the size of the TL606, which was originally loaded with the DLX15, Qts .28. Both the 3015LF and 3015 would easily work better than the EVX in that cab. Even EV doesn't recommend less than an 8 cu ft cab for the EVX on the EVX data sheets.

    ok. thx guys.
  5. I can't find that recommendation anywhere.
EV offers an EVX155-equipped cab with about 4 cu ft of volume: the Plasma P1.
  6. Good Grief! I've got a grandkid younger than this thread!
