Examples of Fender Sound???

    Since the early 1950's, people have described the Fender basses as unique with growl, smooth and buttery. Since most people would have different impressions of what these words mean, I thought it would be great to hear actual examples of recordings.

    When you think of the classic Fender sound, what tune (or tunes) first come to mind? It doesn't matter what genre or whether its a P or a Jazz...what's your favorite?

    I think a lot of people would like to hear to appreciate...

    Thanks for that, Wise(b)ass...what a great mix. That bass really stands out and Cocker's voice compliments that bass.

    Check this one out:



    Not a fan of Pickett when he's screaming or the guitar but the bass is great...Ronnie Baker played a regular old Sunburst/RW neck P-Bass with flats deadened with masking tape, occasionally. Not sure what his set-up was on this one.
