exotic bass help?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by allan grossman, May 31, 2003.

  1. I'm trying to find the website for the guy who built this bass. I know it exists - that's where I got the picture from :)

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

  2. That would be a "Tune" bass (http://www.tunebass.com/), build in Japan. I've seen that picture from a Japanese collector site (can't remember which one now), but I don't see it on the Tune site.

  3. Looke like Tune also made an 8-string version.

I love the exotic chachinga tops, but I'd have to see that one in person to decide if I like it. Wacky colors and paterns. It would be a great bass for a Grateful Dead or Jefferson Airplane cover band. Like wow man.

It's pretty interesting to say the least.

wow, man, that bass is killer looking.

says BOALG all over it, doesn't it? :D

  6. Nah - it's too rich for his blood :D

boalg likes cheap ones (or pointy ones) a little better.

Here's a pic of the whole bass. One thing I noticed is the long upper horn - at least the thing shouldn't dive on you :)

The upper horn isn't really that long - only goes to about the 14th fret - it's just that the upper cutaway is very deep.

boalg is jt's best forum buddy over on Harmony Central's bass forum ;)

  10. Stands for "Basses Of A Lesser God". A pretty erudite forum moniker.

When you say 'killer' in this case, do you mean potentially lethal?:bag:

  14. No, I'm just old and haven't learned to speak high school.

I think you are roughly my age Treena. I just was less impressed than you with the look of the instrument.

But where did you find the bouncy ball smiley?

  16. My favorite color is blue/purple. I have a 62 bug in that same color. SWEET!

The bouncy smile is from this site.
