extending cabinet range with tube

Discussion in '[OLD FORUM] Bass Guitars, Amps, and Accessories: F' started by Grooveman, Dec 31, 2001.

  1. I have the JBL MR 812. It is a 300 watt 12" Speaker in a small box. the port hole is kind of small. Is it possble to get the speaker to respond to the 41 htz of the low E? If you add a tube extention to the port?????? Now, there is just a hole. Now is sounds good down to the lowA. On some speakers the port hole has a tube running into the speaker???
Any ideas for a confused bassist/

Grooveman, this post would be better served in Amps, we have several speaker experts in that Forum who can help you.
