i have a laney r5 300watt 4 ohm 2X10 combo. its a nice lil combo and sounds great. but there is an extension 15" speaker available and i was wondering if i were to invest would it benifit my sound a hell of alot more or would it just alow the lower tones to shine a little more? thanks for any usefull input

  2. Like you said there is the r115 8 ohm cab available but there is also the r410 cab. Both are 8 ohms and the R5 combo has an 8ohm speaker out. This means that you are not putting out the full 300w of your amp so adding any 8 ohm cab will work well and give you more volume. From there it is a matter of tone.

Based on my preference I would look for a 1x12 cab to add to your combo but the r115 would work well for volume and bottom end. It would also match the look of your combo.
