Extention Cabs 2x12 or 1x15 or 1x18?

  1. Hi,

I am thinking of getting an extention cabinet for my 4 x10, shall I go for 2 x12, 1x15 or 1x18? Should I stick to the same brand as my 4 x10?

What works for you? It's going to be 8 ohm cab.

    Thanks

This is really a question of what YOU like.
I prefer smaller speakers, because you can hear yourself better on stage and they are not so boomy in smaller rooms. (I've learned my lesson with a 215 cab...)

There are people who say that speakers of the same brand sound better, because they are designed to match each other (regarding frequency response and volume). On the other hand there are many people who use cabs of different brands with good results. I don't know, I usually use one single cab.

10s are supreme, to me. Just buy a new cab, a 8x10. You'll be extremely happy. Period.
