F.B.T. Electronics

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Aussiephoenix, May 2, 2005.

  1. Hi,
A friend of mine has been offered this (supposedly) bass head from a company called F.B.T. Electronics...
We've searched and turned up nothing on them,
so were wondering if someone out there knows of them or their equipment.

this amp is "Mod. 500 BR-2", seems to be late 60's, and made in Italy.

It has Low and High inputs, Bass, Volume, Trebble, Depth and Pilot controls.

    anyone know anything about it?

  3. ok, i have been using one of them as a friend of mine has one.
    it is a tube-bassamp with 2x EL34´s (50watt) into 8 ohms only.
sounding great with a bigger cab (2x15 or 4x12) with lots of definition and body to the tone. as it´s only 50w it starts to get overdriven quite early, but it has some great overdrive. i really like it despite not being rather loud because the sound is just something special.
the deep switch only cut mids and make it sounding dull and weak.

as with most old tubeamps it works with both bass and guitar.
    i´d say go for it!
but don´t expect it to be loud thou... :bassist:
