Here's yet another weird deal that somehow fell in my lap yesterday.

I stopped by a local store and as I was about to leave I got into a conversation with another bassist. It turned into a truly asinine conversation... he was trying to convince me he couldn't run a full range Nahas cab with a Galien Kruger head, that the GK HAD to be run as a biamp only... and the Nahas had to be rewired.

Turns out this silly conversation kept me at the store just long enough for this bass to be brought out. It was yet again a deal too good to pass up. It's sweet and even though I've somehow ended up with several killer sixes, I think I'll be hanging onto this one. Sounds just like my Studio 5... with an extra string;)

  2. You truly get the best deals. :D

    Awesome axe, man! Very nice.

You seem to be a real magnet for both tools and good deals, do these things even out? ;)

BTW killer ax...if you ever feel like sending one to Aus let me know!

...hey Brad, why don't you take a shot at hedge funds or stocks?? :D

That's ANOTHER killer axe you've got on a killer deal. Congrats!! If you ever start holding classes on how to become a deal magnet, I'll sign up for it :D

My second one too. Kind of surprised at how much it plays and sounds like my Studio 5... even though it's 24 fret. The fretboard woods are just about identical on them, darker than the usual maple board, with a nice flame pattern. Maybe that's it;)

Too funny, Mark:D. Fortunately the scale is tipped in the direction of killer deals. This is the third bass deal in about two weeks... plus the non-bass stuff. Just minding my own business and wham!

Guess it was that rabbit's foot that was making sitting and walking so uncomfortable all this time;)

    I did. I suck.

Probably because it requires a tad more than dumb luck.

I don't even want to know how this works. Probably screw everything up. I used to say looking often was the biggest key (besides knowing what you're looking at) but heck... I'm finding just as much stuff NOT looking.

If your gonna brag about a killer deal, you gotta disclose the price.

    Nice bass.

I really like the look of F basses. I love the matching pickup covers and headstock. :bassist:

I'm about ready to sell a kidney for the Maple top Emerald BN-6 for sale at a particular high-end retailer.

Actually I didn't think I was bragging. By now a lot of folks know I come across flat out silly deals on a regular basis, just recounting the latest one:D

I got this bass from a store for $1000 including the F Bass gigbag. I got my Studio 5 for $1450 IIRC, not a bad deal either.

When I say weird deal, trust me... I mean weird deal.

I will mention I took it out tonight and it did sound great on my gig. I guess that might be bragging;)
