Finally, I could not take it any longer! I had to buy a F Bass BN 5. Last week, Adrian at Access Bass tempted me with a picture of a new one he had coming from F Bass. Even though I was looking for a used one I could not pass it up. It is a very nice blue color with a pretty wild grain pattern. Adrian received it the other day and was nice enough to take some pictures of it and send them to me to tide me over until I could see it in person. I will be waiting by the door next week for it's arrival.

Adrian is a great guy to do business with and would recommend him to everyone. Thanks Adrian!

Thanks, it is less expensive to buy from a dealer. Most manufacturers protect their dealers so they either do not sell direct or it will cost you more to do a direct deal. Adrian gave me a fair deal and he is an honest person so I bought it from him.

I did get a chance to play an F Bass for a day, that's why I really fell in love with them. I can't wait.

thanks for the kind words, Shawn- you will love this baSs - its a pleasure doing business With you-
    furiously funky-
Shawn is correct- if the builders offered better price direct.. what would be the sense of having dealers?? and in fact, some have before, creating all kind of problems- its common sense- you dont compete against the dealers that promote and sell your product-- George Furlanetto is very protective and fair when it comes to this-
with Carey Nordtstrand, for example. if you buy a bass from him or one from me- you will pay the same price- there isnt an advantage either way- other than i can take care of a lot of details and customer care that Carey would also do, but it would cut into his building time to be on the phone discusing the bass- and if one of us offered better deal than the other- the entire point would be moot...

  5. Very nice bass!!!

IMO, most builders should be primarily concerned with building great instruments. Let the dealers do the marketing and the customer service. If Adrian would have been dealing with Nordstrand when I began that project, I would have gladly worked with Adrian instead of Carey - not that Carey has been anything but fantastic to deal with, but I would rather have him focused on the instrument than dealing with folks like me!

Thanks, Jeff- in yourcase, i have a suspicion that Carey is thoroughly enjoying working with you on your bass. since it is so special and likely Carey's most elaborate work yet- i think he would have wanted to handle that one-
    it is quite precious...

    pistolerace - Great bass congrats!

ffunky - You're a lot closer to George's shop than you are to a dealer. When I last checked he doesn't have a dealer in Ontario. (He dropped the 12th Fret in Toronto).
I have visited his shop and it was a real treat. He's a great guy.He will definitely not undersell his dealers but I don't think you'll pay more either.

    pistoleroace,

That is a beautiful bass! I bet it plays darn-well. I'm a big fan of the maple fingerboard and transp-blue stain.

cool, and since you do live close to F bass- and he doesnt have a dealer there- your case is different, he may sell you a bass direct, but the pricing policies apply.. cool thibg is you can stop by and see the proces of your bass without hounding him for emailed pics..
at any rate, an F bass is a wonderful choice
