This bass is amazing in its tonal palette as well as the build quality. The attention to detail and custom work in terms of the build is top notch. The knobs are recessed into the body. The individual bridge pieces are recessed into the body. The back of the body is contoured to fit to your body. The body is made of Alder. The neck is of the neck through design providing excellent sustain. The fingerboard is ebony which is very fast and has lots of snap to it and is a great marriage with the Alder body. The tuner knobs, the fingerboard inlays, the gold hardware all make for an absolutely gorgeous instrument. Add the excellent electronics (dead quiet) along with the integrated NE-1 mid boost switch and knob make for an instrument with a wide tonal palette. The scale is 34” and the neck is so comfortable to play. The neck width at the nut is 1 ¾” and the string spacing at the bridge is 17.5mm. The controls are volume, blend, bass, midrange, treble, NE-1 knob and switch. It’s a nice feature as you can effectively have two different sounds with the flip of a switch. The NE-1 is born out of the previous Yamaha Magic Box used by Nathan East. This is an awesome instrument and it pains me to sell it. The truth is I took the dive into the 5 string world and as much as I hate to admit it, I am just not ready for it yet. I need to improve my skill and playing on a four string before tackling the fiver. I took the plunge and committed to it but after some time, I just feel like I am holding myself back in terms of progress. I have had tons of counsel in both directions but think this is best for my playing at this point in time. Now you have the true information about my user ID “bpwb”. It stands for “Bass Player Wanna Be”. LOL! These instruments retail for $3500 and the best street price I have been able to find is $2399. This one is in excellent condition. I am the original owner. It has been lightly played and well cared for. It comes with the original hard shell Yamaha case from the factory and it has never left my house. Also have all the paperwork and case candy. Thanks for all the bumps. It plays awesome. I just wish I was a better player. Someone needs to snatch this up because it will be a long time before you see another one come up. I looked for a used one for months and found nothing and then caved and bought the new one. Of course, two weeks later, one shows up at Bass Emporium but it was a white one and I wanted the black one. Haven't seen another one since.

Right on. Thanks! Hope it works out for you. I use this bass for worship and in my Christian Rock band and it sits well in the mix. It will be sorely missed. It really is a beautiful piece. I am sitting here right now looking at it with a tear in my eye.
