Hey Guys, I need some advice. I am trying to tune my bass in F#. Not the low F# below a low B string, but rather, the F# that would be the second fret of the low E string. So, I want my tuning to be F# B E A. So, I am trying to figure out what strings to use in order to not put too much tension on my neck and also not pop strings. Any advice? Thanks, -nick
Don't laugh. The jazz/dance band I play in that plays dance club gigs plays everything from standards to show tunes to the different latin dances to, yes, 2-step. We have an arrangement of "Boot Scootin' Boogie" in Eb. I capo. I'll be damned if I'm going to play the bass riff, 1 - b3-3 - 5 - 6-5 in anything but an open key, especially when, if the dance floor is full, he opens up the middle for solos.
You might have better luck with these capos: http://www.spidercapo.com/xxl-spidercapo.html They actually look really cool. I kind of want one now.
Wow,that's even made for bass awesome thank you for sharing. __________________ damn kids and their capo
