Ok I had this up as a for sale item, however, now Im entertaining trades for a 5 string or 6 string bass, (Yamaha's 415, Ibanez SR505, SR506, MIM Jazz 5, etc...) Let me know what you got? If you have a 5 string and looking to get back to 4 string ala P-bass this trade may work for you...

This is a near mint mid 80's Yamaha BB300 bass, it started out as a project bass b/c the build quality in regards to the neck, ash body and overall condition was excellent, these are very solid basses and a great foundation to build from! So I decided to hot rod it with over $450 in upgrades. which include:

    Schaller black/tuners
    Hipshot-Xtender
Seymour Duncan Quater Pound P-bass p/u
    Badass II bridge
CTS pots and upgraded quality jack input (the OE stuff was not the best)
Professional fret dress and set-up (which really gives this bass low even action with no buzz)

Asking $300 plus shipping, I know you can find these basses for less then 200 bucks on the bay, but this bass was not only done up the right way, but it blows the doors off the new BB series and MIM fenders or even some MIA fender P basses. And it sounds just as "BAD" as it looks! Ive just made the move to 5 string in the past year and this bass just sits in the closet, so I need to let it go...

That's a great bass with some very sensible mods. Wish I needed another P-type bass right now . . .

Bass still here make some offers?

  11. Wow, this really takes me back! I had a black BB300 as my first bass back in the late 80s, and I did very similar mods to mine. I've always said the BB300 was among the best "cheap" basses ever made -- much nicer than comparably priced Fenders, IMO.

These basses are definetly a step up from any MIM Fender and any of the new BB414/415 etc... I really cant believe this bass is still here??? But I'll keep bump'in for some best offers!
