    Hello everybody,

I'm new writing here. I've just see at very low price a P Bass (300$) offer as a 2011 original. The specs seems good but when i check out some photos i always see the American special sign in the top of headstock, this P bass doesn't have it.

What do you think about this P Bass guys...

I'm about a million miles away from an expert, when it comes to Fenders, but that looks like a "70's" style neck, with an AmPro body / bridge, with a 60th anniversary neck plate.

it's hard to tell from those resolution pictures, but that's not a 60th anniversary bass, if that's what it's being presented as.

    if it's a 70'sAVRI, I'm guessing the bridge ha s been replaced.

Honestly, I don't know ; but even if it's fake, it looks good for that price.

it does, although the neck plate seems to be off an anniversary model, and that serial number on the headstock suggests it was made in the mid-60's (which we all know it wasn't).

I've just never seen one with the anniversary neck plate, and that serial number seems unlikely.

But assuming that's all legit, the price seems good.

Buy it. It’s a highway 6 bass. (Parts made in Mexico , final product assembled in the US. Finished in nitro).

Bass is worth around double the asking price.

US11 serial means it's made in 2011. Looks like a legit HWY 1. Price is very cheap, especially for how clean it is. I would check the truss rod/neck/frets etc as it's suspiciously low priced. Very nice 2 piece body by the looks of it, I'd buy it if there's no issues. Btw you could probably sell the Badass bridge for $70, so totally a steal at $300.

Fender included the anniversary neck plate on all P-basses made in 2011 -- not only the limited-edition 60th Anniversary model.

Real Fender HWY 1 and quite a steal at $300 - you should take it!

  12. Plus it looks like it has the real Badass Bass II bridge which is a legendary piece of stuff. I guess whoever played it before knew what he was doing.

Don't buy it - tell me where it is so I can buy it. ;)

  14. The Highway One P and J after the upgrade in 2006 came stock with BAII. That's what my 2008 Highway One Jazz came with.

And the bass in the pic is the one you'll get?
    For $300, huh?
I gamble all the time buying online, but there's a difference between a good bet and a bad one.

Highway One - not Highway 1. Truss adjustment at the neck heel, BadAss II bridge, and big Fender Precision Bass logo. This pre-dates the American Special series.

For $300 that is a no-brainer unless of course the truss rod is maxed out or something.

Grab it. I had a 06 Jazz HW One.

As well as the BA bridge, it also has the graphite rods in the neck. The nitro wears well also. Great bass.
