I haven't done this in awhile, and I just brought in a couple of new members... From Left to Right: 1) F Bass BN6 - this one has been on the block a couple of times, and whenever I feel the need to sell it, I play it and then keep it. Incredible bass. 2) New Sadowsky 24F5 - just got it two weeks ago. It has a tiger's eye burst over 4A quilted maple, birdseye board with vintage tint and Nordy big singles. This came out EXACTLY the way I thought it would. The tone is incredibly versatile and very different from the Vintage or Standard. I love it... easily my easiest playing bass. I love the neck. 3) Sadowsky Hybrid P-J - just got it last week. I haven't had a chance to use it in the band situation yet, but this thing rocks. Fat to burpy in no time. 4) Zon Custom 4-banger with 519 electronics - I really love playing this thing to get that Zon tone going. Great for fingerstyle, tapping, what have you. The composite neck rules. I just have to file down the bottom of the saddles for lower height off the board, but it's near perfect. 5) Rob Allen Mouse 30 - as soon as I played Chunk-o-Funk's Mouse at a GTG, I knew I had to have one. I just love playing this thing... it's an incredible amount of fun. The only thing missing is a regular jazz bass... Nino!!!!! Not pictured - a Fender Highway 1 P-Bass, Blonde with tort guard. I threw some flats on it, and I really like it. It could, however be liquidated for other things.
I often see threads like this, and when I open them think "yeah, there's one or two I'd like, but overall, it's not my thing". Your selection is absolutely amazing - I'd be happy with any of those, and even happier with all of them! Very nice indeed.
Great family. You've got basicaly every tone covered, except maybe a stingray But not everyone needs that tone.
Was this really necessary? Now no one visits my topic anymore Nah, just kidding! I love the F-bass, the Sado24 and the RA!
Hmm, coincidence: minus the FBass, I think that those are my top four basses on my GAS list. Drool. Amazing collection!
GREAT set of basses you've got. I wish I could play 4s rather than being a total convert to 5s...there are a lot of cool basses out there. Marshall
You have quite the collection. You must be a very happy man. The F Bass, Sadowsky 24FS, and the Zon are my favorites. I mentioned this before, but I can't get over the finish on the Sadowsky 24. Play in good health, AJ Brown.
You keep proving to have some of the best taste in basses here at TB. That's one hell of a nice collection, AJ.
