Wow, that Spalt one looks amazing!

  5. I really used to like Roger. I did. But after seeing the website update today I'm really upset and frustrated. I shouldn't be as I have a 6th Sad in the works but darn, it's just cruel and inhumane to post those pictures.

If he could just sell the tops and make them interchangeable on the instruments....woo-hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one is quite exceptional... In fact it looks very similar to the body that I turned down for my fretless - at the time Roger kindly offered me the choice between two tops and I chose the other one, with less flame but a bit more spalt. Looking at the picture I wonder if I made the right choice! :D

Anyway if it's like my fretless - and I am sure it is - It has to be a wonderful instrument. I am so happy with it, I doubt I will ever sell it:

Man, those are nice. One day, one day... (when my wife is out of school!)

  10. I know, I know.

    :bag:

I've got two of his basses and compared to my bass playing, I'm sooooooooo much better at that 6 stringed instrument tuned one octave higher. Maybe JT will give me some slack as it's a variant of one of those extended range instruments? Nah...probably not.

  12. I like quilt and all, but flame is my favorite. Bass #4070 is the nicest Sad I've ever seen.

I'd say you made the right choice :D

    Though both are beautiful tops.

  17. Ah, ah, keep religion out of this. Not everybody worships as you do.

Well, we do praise the wood and Roger but you know what I mean.

    Play on! :bassist:

It is the samething as using any other 4 letter word Jim but we all like the wood. :)

  20. I understand were you are coming from. I'm not offended by the previous comment.

And speaking of like the wood, wasn't J.C. a carpenter too?

OK, let's get back to drooling and TB.

I love the quilt on the '59 burst. Put a birdseye 'board on that and my wallet starts to buzz.
