Fat sound?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by 4FaTStRInGs, Jan 7, 2002.

  1. I own a Warwick Streamer Lx 4 strings and what I like most about it is the low end...it sounds fat, just like a Stuart Zender's...know what I mean? The problem is,...I can get Stuart's sound on the low and mid range, but when I go high it sounds too dry. I think I could solve this problem buying some new strings but since I know so little about it and don't have the $ to try many strings till I get to what I want,...I was hoping someone could help me. Thanks a bunch!

I would go with DR Lo-Riders, right out of the box they are nice and fat, not too bright but clear. I have had DR Hi-Beams on my bass for a while (about 2-3 months) and it's just like I took them out of the box (but almost too bright for me). I am hoping the Lo-Riders are the same way, I just slapped them on, plugged in and then fell in love with my new set of strings:p
