Who is your favorite active bassist? I'm not talking about some old guy who goes out on tour every once and a while. I mean actively gigging and/or playing sessions.

    For me:

    Bakithi Kumalo
Pino Pallidino (this guy is amazing with D'Angelo)
    Christian McBride

I thought you meant favorite bassist who plays an active bass.
  3. I thought you meant 'sexually' active.

...and I still opened the thread.
  4. KoRn bassist Fieldy has to be the best for active bassist. Flea from the RHCP is awesome too.

  7. hee hee hee. funny. :D

my vote goes to matt freeman. also, huge props to anna milat-meyer of the pilfers. nobody's ever heard of them, but this chick cooks.

    Indeed brave words, perhaps unknowingly?

But to even utter Fieldy's name ahead of Flea?

C'mon now, the guy didn't know any better, it was only his second post. No more Fieldy comments, just the bass players.

Donald Duck Dunn is still active with Crosby Still and Nash I think, so my vote goes for him.

Spankbass, your signature is actually a quote from the late comedian, Bill Hicks. Tool sampled one of his CDs for that part in "Third Eye."

Besides the fact that he doesnt play bass, sucks, doesnt really care to be a bassist, etc etc. Hes pretty terrible. Hitting strings as fast as you can doesnt take too much effort.

Hes more a "beerist" than a "bassist."

Fieldy's one of those guys who wouldn't wear a bass because it doesn't go with his shirt. Yep, shirts go first...

But we've had enough Fieldy bashing around here, haven't we?
