Favorite drinks?

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by line6man, Aug 5, 2012.

  1. Today I discovered the "Wall Street" martini recipe on the Absente website- Vanilla vodka, absinthe and vermouth. My new favorite martini! :D

I'm also fond of mudslides (Rum, Kahlua and cream) and margaritas. I could sip either all day long if it weren't for the sugar and alcohol.

What are your favorite drinks, and/or, what do you have in your liquor cabinet?

Gin and Sprite. A buddy turned me onto it when I realized the quinine in tonic water was giving me headaches.

Where in the heck did you get absinthe???? I haven't looked at the laws about it in a while - is it legal in the US now?

    The kidney cleanser.

  9. Honestly, i have no idea. Every time I go out to a club or bar I just ask for something sweet and every time the bartender gives me something amazing and I forget to ask the name of the drink...

    Yes.

    But, as for fave drink:

    - Beer
    - Scotch in winter
    - G&T in summer

  11. I'll drink anything. In beer, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA is my current favorite. I also like my completely fresh-fruit made margaritas. Red Stag over ice also makes me happy.

  12. It is indeed legal. I've got four bottles (Le Torment Vert 100 proof, Pernod 136 proof, Absente 110 proof and a 100ml bottle of Grande Absente 138 proof.), but I'm pretty sure the purists would say none of them are "proper." Don't really care what's authentic or whatnot, as long as it tastes good.:hyper:

It goes without saying, but drink in moderation. :)

  13. Don't like ice in my whiskeys. Waters them down!

Diet Pepsi is too sweet! You've got to try Diet Coke. Though I'll take either interchangeably.

Diet soda is definitely superior to regular.

Kegerator and wine rack elsewhere. Basically, about half scotch + all the basics + a few weird and wonderful goodies brought home by kind friends after trips abroad.

Mix myself a big bottle for when the Mormon relatives come over... Looks like ginger ale hehe

    If it's a mixed drink then I'd go for 7 & 7's.

Straight up its whiskey on the rocks, Jameson or Red Breast.

Lager, stout, or a mild and balance ale for beer.

I wish I had the taste buds for IPAs. I know I'm missing out on some good stuff, but I just can't stand them :meh:

  20. To me, they have a citrusy grapefruity flavor, and I love me some grapefruit! It was love at first sip. :)

I always have some IPA or another in my fridge. When my brother comes over (who loves beer) he'd sooner grab a soda if it was IPA-only. Poor fella! ;)
