Favorite EP?

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by Bassline1414, Mar 8, 2002.

  1. What's your favorite EP? I really like "My Father My King" by Mogwai (one song, 20 minutes long) and "SAP" and "Jar of Flies" by Alice in Chains. I also got "Further Down the Spiral" by NIN tonight but have listened yet.

A Change of Seasons - Dream Theater... well, if you ditch all the live tracks on it, you could see it as one 23 minute long side.

  3. Ok, I listentened to Further Down the Spiral...pretty cool! This was actually my first NIN recording, so I'm definately going to consider getting some more NIN stuff (I hear the Downward Spiral is pretty good).

The ironic part about that CD is even though it only has a couple tracks, if you add everything up time wise, it's longer than what some bands put out as an LP.

Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
Without a doubt, mine has to be "EEPEEE" by Aquarium Rescue Unit.

Radiohead - Airbag [How's my driving]

  7. "Broken" by NIN or "Smells Like Children" by Marilyn Manson. Great EPs.

  8. The "Hold On Hope" EP by Guided By Voices. Supposed to be stuff that didn't fit or 'wasn't good enough' for "Do The Collapse", but some of it was far superior to what ended up on the album.

  9. Interesting choices, guys. The reason I started this thread was to see what cds I could get for fairly cheap, seeing as how I'm broke. :D

You just have to like a Hardcore Punk band with female vocals that covers Thin Lizzy and Bad Brains on one and the same EP.

The colored vinyl is a nice bonus too.

  15. ditto...plus My Iron Lung

Edit: Add Pearl Jam's "Merkinball" to the list (can't believe i forgot)

AFI - "All Hallows E.P." Best 4 song CD i know.

  18. Well, my favorite EPs are all of local bands, so obviously you've never heard of them before, but i guess i can state my favorites of known bands...

    AFI - All Hallows
