Impossible for me to choose just one!
No love for the p/j?
I love the sound of a p-bass with rotosounds through a tube amp and 2x15's. It may be my favorite all time bass sound. Shows you where I come from.
That's what other is there for
nothing beats a slightly dirty P bass with rounds in my opinion...
played with a pick of course!
P w/DR High Beam Heavy Gauge through tubes and 10's.....mmmmmmmmmm
hell yes. thats an awesome tone, i think you are listening to my tone right now
And that's why I picked it, sir!
So far Jazz w/ rounds is leading, and Jazz w/ flats is losing. Why no love for Jazz w/ flats?
I like flats on both my P's and my Jazzes.
Jazz with rounds
thats my idea of the perfect bass tone for both fretted and fretless basses.
I love my jazz with flats. TI flats. Plugged into a shuttle 6.... (slobber)
Not much love for the flats.
I voted for jazz with rounds, but i also love P with rounds...
OMG picks pwn AFAIC IOW picks FTW IMHO LOL YMMV BTW FWIW HTH EOM
I don't know why I did that.
i normally would have said jazz with rounds.. but this week i had the opportunity to use a 62 pbass with flats. The studio just had it sitting there.. i threw some foam under the bridge and used it for some reggae style tunes and i was blown away at the tone and mojo of the thing!
I voted Jazz w/flats because that is what I play...I love the tone. I am going to get some rotosound roundwounds for my next string purchase.....I can get a better pop out of rounds. I like both round and flat tones
+1. When I had two Jazzes, both of them wore D'addario nickels. Now I just have my fretless and I don't think I would ever switch to flats for it. I love my P w/ flats but a Jazz with rounds is just more versatile. IMO of course.
