Favorite Firefox 2.0 addons/themes

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Dave, Oct 30, 2006.

  1. Didnt want to derail the other Firefox thread, so here you go. List your favorite themes and add ons.

Im using the GrayModern2 theme with Adblock Plus, Tabbrowser Preferences, and Foxytunes (my favorite). I love being able to control any music player you can think of straight from Firefox.

Doodle Plastik theme. I am not quit as happy about the Thunderbird version. But I love it in Firefox!

My second favorite theme is Pinball.

I loooooved the Vista theme for 1.5, it was hawt. I wish that someone would hurry up and come out with one for 2.0 (unless I missed it and it is out for 2.0).

I can't wait until Silverskin is available for 2.0.

-I like the Google toolbar that you can DL from Google.com.
    -Adblock
-IE Tabs for some pages that look weird or won't open in FF
-FireFocCast Give me the local weather
-Tab Catalog is pretty cool, too. I just DLed it a few days ago. It shows all the tabs you have minimized in one window.

  11. currently using Mostly Crystal theme, check out the Pimpzilla theme - very tasteful...

    I always install these:
    adblock - blocks banner ads
noscript - control which sites are allowed to run scripts
flashblock - control which sites are allowed to use flash
tab mix plus - customize your tabs
nightly tester tools - for testers of development versions of Firefox - has the option to use extensions/themes that are "incompatible" with any version
statusbar clock - puts the time/date in the status bar
fasterfox - tweak some settings for better performance

  13. I'm surprised no one has mentioned StumbleUpon

It's great, you choose some topics you like and then when you click stumble you get a random site in your category.

I think it would be nice if people also gave a small explenation of what the extension does.

  15. I use:
Adblock + the Filterset.G Updater to block ads,

Fission to move the progress bar to the address bar,

Menu Editor to cut down what appears in the menus and make more room for the address bar,

and No Squint to remember the zoom setting I pick for each page -- just a small step towards defeating clueless web devs that love tiny fonts.

    Video Downloader... Oh yes!

And stumble, and foxyproxy, and adblock, and fasterfox.

  17. Agreed.

  18. Aight,

Foxytunes - lets you control nearly any media player you want from a small toolbar at the bottom of firefox

Adblock plus - obviously, an adblocker

Tabbrowser pref. - allows you to customize different things about the tabs, like size, location of close buttons, things like that

  19. Ah, StumbleUpon! Beware, it can get addictive! :)

I wasn't finding any value in Fasterfox. What's it doing for you?
