Favorite jazz blues versions

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by alexssandro, May 20, 2002.

  1. It seems like every jazz musician has recorded a jazz-blues at one time or another. I was wondering what everyone's favorites were.

Off the top of my head, these are some that I really like:

Billie's Bounce - Wes Montgomery version
Blues for Django and Stephane - Larry Coryell with Birelli Lagrene, Billy Cobham, and Richard Bona
Relaxin at Camarillo - one of the Charlie Parker versions
Tenor Madness - Sonny Rollins & John Coltrane

I'm looking forward to seeing what is on everyone's lists. It might mean that I need to buy a few more records though!
