I'm curious as to what are your favorite basslines played on a keyboard. Mine are:
"You Are in My System" - The System
"One More Shot" - C Bank
"Mama Used To Say" - Junior
    "AM/FM" - Natasha Smith
    "Planet Rock" - Soulsonic Force
"Flashlight", "Aqua Boogie", & "Mothership Connection" - Parliament
"All Day Sucker" - Stevie Wonder
    "So Fine" - Kashif
    "Hangin' Out" - Bernard Wright
Too many to name, I guess.

    I been everywhere, man...
    None. At all.
There's so many for me as well, but the stuff that Swing Out Sister did on the old Brit-Pop hit "Breakout" really sticks out as brilliant work, as well as the synth bass parts on the "Cupid and Psyche" record by Scritti Politti. I recall that SP stuff being double tracked with live bass as well.

Just heard "And Along Comes A Woman" by Chicago on the radio and got reminded of this thread.

I also remembered "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston. IIRC, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson played keyboard bass on that track.

"West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys - the bass lines has such a fantastic sound/timbre and it is the most interesting thing about the song - the bass line is the hook!!

Also - "Life's what you make it!" - by Talk Talk.

Anything by "Leftfield" - although "Original" is my favourite.

Boogie On Reggae Woman by Stevie Wonder! Try copping that bassline, I dare ya!! That's one of the toughest keyboard basslines I've ever heard!

"You Are in My System" by The System is hot! I used to go nuts everytime I heard that tune! "Hawk" Wolinski is an unsung monster of a keyboardist!

A lot of Madonna's early tunes had some really good key basslines as well.

Oh, I have a good one..........Pleasure Principal by Janet Jackson as produced by Monte Moir!

How about Saturday Love by Alexander O'Neil and Cherelle!

Just about anything done by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis was funky!

"Pleasure Principle" was sick! So was "Don't Disturb This Groove" by The System.

"Let It Whip." There's a bass guitar in there somewhere, too.

  16. another vote for the Pet shop boys' "west end girls".

Thompson Twins- "you've got love on your side"

    Kraftwerk-"the model"

The Source featuring Candi Staton- "you got the love" (original version)

Orange juice - "rip it up" (not sure if that's synth or an envelope filter on bass guitar)

    Devo - "whip it"

another vote for Junior - "mama used to say"

Daft Punk - "around the world"
