Favorite MM J combo under a grand?

    Schecter CV-4...or the Ibanez Roadgear...maybe the MTD Heir...there aren't many choices for under $1000...

    Look for USA made Peavey Millennium. Do not confuse with the import Millennium series. These are great basses that have a build quality comparable to Lakland. They sound great and can be had pretty cheaply. There are still a number of them around as new/old stock.

    I'd say MTD Heir or a Lakland 55-02 might fall into this category, I don't know how much they go for new, but I was looking at a used one in the classifieds here for $850.

    My Carvin lb70p has the best tone I've ever played. I wish the neck were a little wider but the tone is the best.
