Favorite Nordstrand Soapbar pickup?

They aren't really too keen on changing their pics as you make that choice in shell designs are they?

The page offers three different shape options and clearly has a tab to see dimensional drawings of the various product versions on offer. The information is right there. The only person who misses it is the person who stops at pictures and doesn't read. Reading is power.

as well as dimension, as if depth/height shouldn't matter at all. Beats me. They just state 2 dimensons. Width and length but not height.

True! I think that the number of people with solidbody electric guitars and basses that are so thin that the pickup depth becomes a definite concern is low, and those people know who they are and know that they'll have to do a little bit of digging for that info.

I like data, so on that score, I'm with you. I don't know that the info is all that important in the grand scheme though, and the people who need the info know to do extra digging.

They're not alone though. Augilar lists 2 dimensions only too. Delano shows 3 dimensions, EMG too. If their specs of dimensions said "direct replacement of..." then it would be no concern, but you had to go to a) bartolini b) emg c) musicman sites to find out.

No. They give replacement equivalents. As d Bart. EMG only make in standard sizes, theirs and other brand legacy and not all of them.
Are you not able to use a tape measure or rule? You would have had your answers long before now if you could.

I'm interested in some recommendations. I recently completed a fretted and fretless pair, both equipped with BigRigs wired to independent three-way coil selection switches. They sound GREAT, and I'm quite happy with them.

For my next build, I'd like to get a different voicing of out the instrument, particularly out of the bridge pickup (note - coil switching is an important feature I honestly can't live without). I'm curious to get some guidance about what pickup might be the best complement to a single BigRig in the neck (P-bass) position with something more growly and punchy in the bridge position. Would love your thoughts on Mix n' Match!!

I'm a fan of the BigRig as well. You might try a BigSplit in the bridge position for a little more punch and growl. They work well as a pair.
