    Aye, this one'll be bloody.

I ran out of space for Dimarzio/Kent Armstrong, and sadowsky/j-retro will go under fender replacements. Demeter can go under other. Lightwave...other. Damnit!

For people with mixed pickups/preamp (ie, JT with LP/Demeter or Nino with EMG/Aguilar), well, you can die. I dont know what to do with you. Vote for the pickups, i suppose.

Polls are hard! Or i just suck...either way!

  5. barts are the best pickup i have even played, punchy, yet warm and very quite.

Voted Lane Poor, but they are now, suddenly, vintage. Discontinued, as it were.
Bartolini or Kent Armstrong for magnetics, if you talk "still made". Though LightWave seems to be my next target.....

  7. I've tried Barto's in a Modulus Vintage J bass.Great tone-round,punchy,and cuts thru.I don't remember if the whole system was active but I know some of the components were.

    Im a bartolini guy myself.

  9. The three basses I'm down to now all have either DiMarzios or Kent Armstrongs, and they all sound great to me.

Don't forget my Spectors. EMG's with Spector/Haz-Lab preamps.

Most of my basses have EMG's & I love 'em. I also love the G&L humbucker in the L & ASAT series.

    Im a bartolini freak too.
Even the name sounds cooler than other brands.
Most guitar players ask you... What Pickups do you have..
When I say "Bartolinis" they reply... "Why didnt you get Dimarzios" .. LOL
    hehehe

Barts are the sound that I have always heard in my head, but never found until I got my Rapture J2.

I love vintage Fender Jazz pickups, or the 60's reissues, and with my Bart Js I can get that tone with no noise.

And I used to think that Bart soapbars were OK until I bought a bass with them, and now realize that they are awesome! Powerful, yet warm, capable of a very wide range of tones indeed!

Compared to the other forums, it seems that nobody cares for this one.
You can notice that by looking at how much replies this one has go, and if you see other threads like my "Triple Coil Bartolini Vs Quad Coil" noboy has answered anything.
