Favorite starter amp

    I have always thought a great starter amp was the gk800rb. You can get them used cheap. You can run them full range or biamp, small, loud and good tone. You might like it and keep it for your main rig or find somthing you like later and keep it for a practice amp. Ethier way, you will keep it for awhile. Ive seen them for about $200-300 used. Out of the ones you posted I like the swr 4004.

    Do those really count as "starter" amps? I mean I've seen pros using some of those amps.

    Well I think that 400 watts and a 4x10 is a good start if you're playing out.
    If your not planning to play out for a while get a practice amp.

    My phylosophy is the the same for buying amps or motorcycles..

    Buy the biggest one you can comfortably afford that suits your needs.
