    Well, I voted other.

I listen to, and equally like...

Combo Jazz, Classical, Classic Rock, Progressive Rock (though nothing from the new 'prog' (read: shred) bands has been impressing me lately), Pop (I'm a huge Peter Gabriel and Seal fan), Metal (Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath), and a lot of others. :)

I voted other because my tastes run from Rush to Jamerson and from the Irish Descendants to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. When I think about it really hard there are only two types of music I don't really enjoy: opera and rap (but only because of the vocals - don't ask,the music component is fine I just can't get past they rhythmic vocal thing). I have also have developed an aversion to labeling music and as a result didn't understand half the options posted in the poll :D

  11. I like all music that is "good" and has "original" ideas.
I voted Rock coz "Stoner Rock" is my fav. genre.
But I allso like the spontaniality and improvisional side of Jazz, I love Blues mixed with Rock like "Danko Jones" (I grew up listning to blues, from my dad)
Bluegrass is also very interesting, I like "The Meat Puppets" (rock and bluegrass)

I voted punk, the one and only vote for punk. I wasnt really sure though.

I like to listen to the lighter stuff (LTJ, Offspring etc) Though I prefer to perform heavier stuff (Black Sabbath, Metallica)

Why isn't this a multiple choice poll?

I don't have an all time Favorite genre, how could I?

Music is music, I'll listen to anything I like.

I heard Bow-wow today on BET, it was excellent.

I voted for rap on this poll because you told me not to, and that was very uncalled for.

Metal. Although I have a liking for Classic Rock as well.

Just wondering, why did you put Symphonic Metal and not thrash or doom or something like that? What wiould be a Symphonic metal band? Emperor?

Satancore with Early Funk Metal influence.
  20. I voted fusion since for me fusion is more a combination of whatever generes, rythims and sounds rather than strictly a blend of jazz and funk.

And, no offense but the poll seems a bit close minded..
I mean.. If you differ metal from symphonic metal, why label "pop" as a just one genere?
just for example, I think there is more variety inside different expositors of "pop" music, than in punk, or sym. metal.

Classifying is such a complex thing to do.. Music generes can be categorized by its rhythims, its origin, its instruments, its social background, its lyrics, its commercial success, and so on..
