For you Fender fans out there... which is your favorite vintage color? If it's not listed there, pick the approximate color closest to yours. I tried to keep it vintage, so basically these are colors that were around in the 50s-70s. I personally love the look of sunbursts, especially 3 color. I love blond too.
There's just something about the butterscotch blonde w/ black pickguard that looks so cool. Sunburst would have been a close second... Who voted other without posting what their color was?
I like all of the old fender colors but, here are some of my faves, (not in any order) 1. 3 Color Sunburst 2. lake placid blue 3. olympic white w/a black guard on 70's P-basses and tortis on Jazzes and 60's P-basses. 4. daphne blue is kinda cool too. 5. C.A.R., I love those 75 reissue jazzes! (but it looks great on anything) I personally find some of the new colors pretty gross.
Boooo! Guess Natural is just "Other" then. Also, post what pickguard colors you find suit your paintjob the most! I'm old-skool, Sunburst/TortoiseShell, it's the classic look (and I've got me one just like that!).
For 60's Jazz basses, my favorite has to be Sherwood Green Metalic though I like Olympic white too. For 70's Jazz basses, C.A.R. with matching headstock is it!
I have serious GAS over a 51 P-bass in Sunburst. While it's only a two-tone deal, can you imagine what it would look like in three-tone? Wowza.
I like the 3 tone sunburst with tortiseshell. Tobacco sunburst is my 2nd favorite w/ gold anodized pickguard. I like Daphne Blue and Surf Green. Olympic White is also very classic.
Sea foam green and Candy apple red are personal favorites of mine. Both of these colors bring jazz basses to a new level desireability. These colors work very well with matching headstocks.
Natural blond with the black pickguard as stated earlier. I kinda have a linking for the Seafoam Green too.
I'm a sucker for CAR myself. I was able to resist my Roscoe Beck 5 GAS until I found one for sale in that color. Yes, with matching headstock
