Picked this up in trade and have decided its just not "me." It is however the best playing fretless I've ever played. It just represents a large investment that i could better employ elsewhere. Here's the original thread with the particulars:

    http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/fs-ft-f-bass-fretless-5-34-neck-through-model-996599/

$2500 + shipping, USPS money order, don't have a paypal acct.
Trades? ONLY looking for equal value 5 strings, Smiths (a stretch I know), Pedullas (only MVP or Penta), Sadowsky NYC, maybe the right Skjold.

Honestly I hope the previous owner is able to get it back.

    Pics added below.

    I'm not in any hurry.

    Thanks for looking!!!

A couple of observations about the uniqueness of this instrument: the pickup covers use the same laminates as the neck and body. That's pretty neat. The upper horn feeding back into the body as seen from the back is a really beautiful line. The side markings on the fingerboard make maintaining intonation a breeze. This bass really plays itself.

Mulling over a serious trade offer involving a bucket list bass for me. Any more offers may may need to be received very soon for consideration.

Thanks again Jim for the heads up on pics and the kind words!!

Interesting. Lionseek. com tracks ads from multiple sources, including TB and this ad. This chart was at the bottom of the page.

In swpyne's for sale thread, Kevin Woods said, "I just bought a vintage fretless F and the sound of the passive tone knob has truly blown my mind. These instruments have lots of tlc in them."

    What is "tic," upper-mid emphasis?

You know I really should chime in here. This bass was previously mine and I had George refinish the pickup covers and also plane and refurbish the fingerboard. He also modded the bridge so it would string through the body.

The bass plays flawlessly and as Flipper said, it pretty much plays itself. With the hash marks on the edge of the board even an inexperienced player can make beautiful (in tune) music on on it. I have owned many fretless basses and I have to say that this one was probably the easiest to play. So......

One of you FBass lusters out there should grab this beauty and see what she has to offer. You won't be disappointed I assure you!

TLC indeed!!! Everybody that touches this bass comments on how well its set up, it's playability, how its been cared for, and tone. No disappointments.
