I think every bassplayer need at least one Jazz style bass in their arsenal, and George's latest spin, IMHO is something to consider. I hate to boast, but I've owned almot every sought after boutique Jazz bass out there, and this one takes the cake. I've been an Fbass fan for more than 15 years, and wondered what a more traditional style Jazz style bass with that Fbass magic would be like. This comes up all in spades. That famous Fbass pre-amp with singel coil jazz pups, WOW!. Super clean set-up, and perfect frets. If you you're in the fence on which Jazz style bass, don't hesitate to jump on one of these. A total love fest! :)

Is the body routed under the pickup like traditional fenders?

I'll try to post some, and yes, it has the traditional routed cavity underneath the pickguard. So far, I'm still in love with it. :hyper:

    you're the man roy! congrats

  13. Nice looking bass!

Forgive my ignorance, but what's with the strings at the bridge end? I've never seen strings that taper off to the core before they reach the bridge.

Hi... congrats Bassconbeatz..thats a nice burst.

Its good to see one up here on talkbass.

They've been coming out great lately too....I was blown away by a few that I got to play last week both alder/rosewood and ash/maple....Jazz Bass tone with FBass nuance...hard to beat combo!

Those are contact core strings made to George's specs by La Bella. They are AWESOME strings (they are all I use anymore).

BTW, I have two VF5's coming in about another month, and I can't wait to play them!

I love this bass so much, and now I'm gassing for one with a rosewood neck. I may give a call to see the ones you're getting. :)

  20. Justin should be on TB. He's really nice!

    And that's not a toy, it's a weapon!
